Jacksonville Jaguars' Josh Allen Signs $150 Million Contract
5-Year Deal Includes $88 Million Guaranteed
Allen Becomes Highest-Paid Player in Jaguars History
The Jacksonville Jaguars and linebacker Josh Allen have agreed to a five-year, $150 million contract extension, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday.
The deal includes $88 million guaranteed and makes Allen the highest-paid player in Jaguars history, surpassing quarterback Trevor Lawrence's $36.8 million average annual salary.
Allen, 26, was originally selected by the Jaguars with the seventh overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. He has quickly emerged as one of the league's top pass rushers, recording 34.5 sacks in his first four seasons.
Allen was a Pro Bowl selection in 2023 after recording 10.5 sacks and forcing six fumbles. He also had a team-high 16 tackles for loss.
The Jaguars were reportedly determined to keep Allen in Jacksonville long-term, and the two sides were able to come to an agreement on a contract that is comparable to the deals given to other top pass rushers in the league.
Allen's contract is the latest in a series of moves by the Jaguars to improve their defense. The team also signed cornerback Darious Williams and defensive tackle Odrick Ray in free agency.
The Jaguars are hoping that Allen can continue to be a key part of their defense for years to come. He is a young, ascending player who is already one of the best pass rushers in the NFL.
