Alyssa Thomas Shoulder Injury

Why Alyssa Thomas' injury comeback is even more impressive than you think

Nine months after an Achilles injury and playing on a torn labrum in each shoulder, Alyssa Thomas is back and dominating for the Connecticut Suns.

In mid-January, Thomas tore her Achilles, an injury that typically sidelines players for 6-9 months. But Thomas was back on the court just over five months later in July.

And she wasn't just back, she was playing at an MVP level. In her first game back, she had 19 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists. She followed that up with a 24-point, 12-rebound, 8-assist performance in her second game.

Thomas' impressive return is even more remarkable when you consider that she's also been playing on a torn labrum in each shoulder. She injured her right shoulder in her second game back and then injured her left shoulder in the second game of the Finals.
